Transfer tapes
In industry, and particularly in the automotive manufacturing sector, there are numerous applications that require special double-sided adhesive tapes, known as transfer tapes. These tapes are characterized by their high-tack acrylic adhesive, which bonds without a backing. As a result, transfer tapes lie particularly flat, meaning that various components can be bonded seamlessly. In addition, the tapes use extremely strong adhesive films to guarantee a reliable bond. This makes transfer tapes suitable for various types of final bonding. Excellent results are achieved on surfaces made of steel (8 N/cm), polycarbonate (7.6 N/cm), and polystyrene (7.2 N/cm). Furthermore, transfer adhesive tapes are extremely resistant to aging effects such as UV light and moisture. They can withstand temperatures of up to 200 degrees for short periods, and up to 80 degrees over the long term.
Transfer Adhesive Tapes – Substrate-Free All-Rounders
Transfer adhesive tapes are characterized by their backing-free adhesive film. The tape itself therefore consists solely of an adhesive film that is covered on one or both sides by protective silicone paper. This paper is peeled off the tape during application, exposing the self-adhesive acrylic adhesive. Since the tape itself consists solely of this flat adhesive layer, it is ideal for seamlessly bonding smooth or thin materials, as well as solid and slightly textured surfaces. Depending on the type of acrylic adhesive used, transfer adhesive tapes are employed in a wide variety of industries.
