Flame retardant aluminum strips
Flame-retardant aluminum adhesive tape is required for various applications. The tape, with its weather-resistant acrylic adhesive, is suitable for sealing pipes and air ducts, as well as for bonding aluminum-faced mineral fiber insulation materials. It is also used as a vapor barrier, masking tape in electroplating, reflective foil, or in container repairs. In these applications, the flame-retardant aluminum adhesive tape must meet extreme requirements and is therefore temperature-resistant up to 150 degrees. It also offers strong resistance to other environmental factors, such as moisture.
Flame-retardant aluminum adhesive tape – ISO DIN 4102 B1
Safety plays a crucial role in applications involving flame-retardant aluminum adhesive tape. For this reason, the properties that this special tape must meet are defined in the international standard ISO DIN 4102. This standard classifies the flammability of materials into the categories B1 for flame-retardant, B2 for normally flammable, and B3 for highly flammable. To obtain the corresponding certification for Class B1, flame-retardant aluminum adhesive tapes are tested by accredited testing laboratories.
