Description
3M™ Fabric Tape 8979 has a unique structure for permanent and temporary indoor and outdoor applications. It can be removed from most opaque surfaces with no or very little adhesive residue for up to six months after application.
The tape does not unroll when unrolled, so it is easy to apply. It is an excellent choice for applications where it can be used to seal covers and close cuffs.
Features
Tape 8979 is made of fabric laminated with polyethylene film and coated with rubber adhesive and conforms to irregular and curved surfaces. Thanks to UV, sunlight and weather resistance, it adheres for up to a year without aging and can also be used at temperatures up to 93 °C.
Applications
– Joining and sealing of foils, wall panels as well as metal and plastic piping systems
– For splicing insulation, pipes and cladding (hinge effect)
– For splicing films for protection during treatment or decontamination
– For wrapping containers and pipes
– For sealing containers and repairing tarpaulins
